Inspection and maintenance services we cover

Your vehicle’s lifespan and performance can be influenced by a series of factors, including the build quality, your driving style, and the condition of the roads. However, no matter how carefully you drive your car, regular engine maintenance is ultimately what makes it stay in good condition. At Redline Automotive EuroMechanic, we use cutting-edge diagnostics tools to check for engine damage and carry out the routine tasks that help your engine deliver the best performance it’s capable of.

● Fluid check. We check to see if your engine fluids are clean and at the recommended level. If necessary, we perform oil and antifreeze changes to ensure that your engine runs smoothly.

● Cleaning air filters. Dirty air filters might not sound like a major issue but, over time, they may cause your vehicle to break down suddenly.

● Rubber belt check. Cracked and worn-out rubber belts can cause other engine components to malfunction. If you hear an odd squealing noise coming from under the hood when the engine is on, the belts may be the cause behind it.

Whether your check engine light is on, or it’s simply been a while since a professional had a look under the hood, we recommend you to schedule a visit at Redline Automotive EuroMechanic as quickly as possible. Don’t wait for your car to break down – most problems can be avoided with a routine check.

Engine Maintenance FAQ

Have a question about engine maintenance? We’ve compiled a list of common questions and answers below.

When the check engine light comes on, that means your car’s onboard diagnostics system has detected a problem with the emission, fuel, or exhaust systems. The light is usually red or orange and tends to blink or flash when the issue is more serious. However, if the light stays on, that doesn’t mean you should ignore the problem either. The check engine light can be caused by something minor, such as a loose gas cap, but it can also indicate a serious problem. For your peace of mind (and your car’s health!), it’s best to schedule a visit to our auto shop, and we will get to the root of the problem.

If the check engine light stays on, you should, in theory, be able to drive your car, at least until you get home or to an auto shop. If there’s no noticeable difference in the way the car drives, there’s no need to pull over (although we advise you to have the issue checked out as soon as possible). However, if the engine maintenance light is flashing, your car is making unusual noises, or it doesn’t drive well, the safest thing to do is pull over and call a towing service to
prevent serious engine damage.

To make sure your car’s engine stays in good condition, change the oil in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, and check that the cooling system is working. In time, overheating can lead to extensive damage. The air filters and the fuel filters should also be changed regularly. That’s quite an extensive list, but the good news is that you don’t have to do all these things alone. At McNally Auto EuroMechanic, we’ll go through this maintenance checklist for you, so that you can continue to safely drive your car.

Engine maintenance refers to all the tasks that prevent car damage caused by wear and tear. The list can include everything from cleaning, replacing old or damaged components, to repairing minor damage before it extends and causes serious problems. Some engine maintenance can be handled by drivers but, for best results, you should have a professional look at your car.
